This tune is an answer to a tune written by a friend who wrote a song that alluded to one of my older songs called Let's Be Kids. When a friend needs shelter, it's my duty to provide. I've been on the other side and appreciate my friends who've been there for me over the years. This tune has an unusual structure for me as it never felt like a solo was needed.
lyrics
I
Welcome Home
IV I
Through Streets down highways your feet have brought you near
iv iii IV
You've battled fear and overcome your doubts
I V
Without those troubled times you'd never have landed here
IV
I'm not about to lose you my dear
I
Welcome Home
I
Welcome Home
IV I
I left the light on in the kitchen for when you cannot sleep
vi iii IV iii IV
And something to prove with words in your head Turning in your bed
ii V7 I
Don't pick up the phone Just light up your Welcome Home
ii V
When you run out that door again
vi IV
Adventure awaits at every shore
ii V7
Take everything, everything in
IV
Then run here for more
I
Of your welcome home
IV V
Home is where your heart is
vi iii IV
This is something true
ii V7
You've paid and paid and paid those dues
IV V7
Even though you have more running to do
I
This is your welcome home
I
Welcome Home
IV I
From my front row seat You've never missed a beat
vi iii IV ii V7
Except those times you struggled to find your certainty
I
Welcome Home
IV V7
Start running to me
I
Your welcome home.
